Terms of Service

The rules for using Quran Lane, written with the same care we want inside the app: clear boundaries, source-visible faith content, and respect for the deeply personal nature of spiritual reflection.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Vibeler Inc. ("Quran Lane," "we," "us," or "our"), a company based in Ontario, Canada. They govern your use of the Quran Lane mobile application (the "App") and the qurancompanion.app website (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. Sections 11–16 limit our liability and affect how disputes are resolved.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Quran Lane Is

Quran Lane is a mobile app for reading the Quran, studying its meaning, and supporting daily worship. It includes the complete offline Arabic Quran, 19 translations, search, bookmarks, private notes, study tools, curated duas and hadith, reflections, guided reading plans, prayer times, Qibla, reminders, dhikr, widgets, sharing tools, and personal records. Some features require Quran Lane Plus.

Arabic Quran text, translations, published commentary, word annotations, and sourced hadith are identified separately from AI-assisted editorial explanations and reflections. Included editorial explanations are generated and reviewed automatically; they are not human-authored tafsir. Personal AI study and chat require an online account and internet, and may produce inaccurate or incomplete answers.

The reader provides recorded recitation by Mishary Rashid Alafasy through EveryAyah; it does not generate or imitate Quran recitation. Separately, Listen & reflect uses the device’s synthetic voice for editorial reflections in English or Arabic. Recitation requires internet to load, and speech availability depends on installed device voices.

Prayer times and Qibla are calculated estimates based on the location and settings you choose. Confirm times with your mosque. Local reminders depend on notification permissions and device settings, cover the next seven days, and refresh when the app opens; they do not play a full-length adhan. Hijri and Ramadan dates should follow your community. Zakat calculations are basic estimates from your figures; payment records do not transfer money or verify donations.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old — or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher — to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use.

If the App asks eligibility, onboarding, or preference questions, you represent and warrant that the information you provide is accurate and truthful. We are entitled to rely on that representation. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate any account we believe does not meet the age requirement, and if we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has created an account or provided information, contact us at hello@qurancompanion.app and we will review it.

The current App uses email magic-link sign-in and does not ask you to create a password. An account is optional for local reading and notes, and is needed for purchases, entitlement verification, and personal AI features. You are responsible for access to your device and email account, the accuracy of your account information, and activity under your account. Do not use multiple accounts to evade usage or purchase limits.

4. App-Store Transactions

Quran Lane Plus is offered through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Weekly and yearly plans provide the same feature access. US reference prices are $4.99 per week and $69.99 per year; the store confirmation shows your local price, applicable taxes, billing period, and final terms. The full annual price is charged for a yearly purchase. No free trial is included. Store availability and displayed offers may change.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through the store. Manage cancellation and refunds with Apple or Google under their terms: Apple subscription help or Google Play subscription help. Deleting your account or uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.

Plus access is enabled after verification. Paid offline access lasts until subscription expiry or seven days after the last verification, whichever comes first; connect to refresh it. Personal AI study and chat share an allowance of up to 200 new answers per day; failed or cancelled requests return their allowance. Existing notes, saved studies, check-in history, and plan progress are kept after access expires. Use Restore purchases in the App with the relevant store and app account when needed.

5. Your License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, commercially exploit, or make unauthorized derivative works from the Service or its content.

6. Your Content and AI Outputs

Bookmarks, notes, journal entries, collections, reading and plan progress, prayer location, worship records, and preferences in the current App are stored on your device. Signing in does not upload them, and automatic cloud sync is not included. Export a backup before changing phones or removing the App. Backup files may include private notes and coordinates; you control where you save or share them. Online AI requests and conversations are separately stored in your account.

You keep ownership of the content you create in the Service — your Ask messages, journal entries, saved notes, support messages, preferences, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us the limited, worldwide, royalty-free license needed to operate and improve the Service: to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content to provide features to you, to send it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy (including AI and infrastructure providers) to generate responses, and to secure, troubleshoot, support, and improve the Service.

You are responsible for what you submit, and you represent that you have the right to submit it. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. You should verify important information against the Quran, trusted translations, qualified teachers, and other appropriate sources before relying on it.

We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, remove, or restrict content, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe breach these Terms, create safety risk, infringe rights, or are unlawful or harmful. We do not endorse and are not responsible for content created by users.

7. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, defame, abuse, exploit, or target others, or submit hateful, obscene, violent, or unlawful content;
  • submit content that infringes anyone's rights, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation, or misuse invite codes, referrals, trials, subscriptions, or account features;
  • present AI outputs as official religious rulings, fatwas, scholarship, emergency guidance, or professional advice;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, bulk-download, or create derivative or competing works from the Service, its content, or its AI outputs;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, or circumvent the Service's security, rate limits, entitlement checks, payment controls, or access controls, or introduce malware;
  • use the Service, or its AI features, to generate or distribute unlawful, harmful, deceptive, exploitative, or abusive material; or
  • use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of these Terms.

We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

8. Not Religious, Professional, or Emergency Advice; Assumption of Risk

The Service is provided for informational, educational, and personal spiritual reflection purposes only. It is not a scholar, imam, mufti, fatwa service, therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency service, or substitute for qualified religious or professional guidance. AI-generated content — including Ask responses, summaries, reflections, and duas — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate, and you should not rely on it as a statement of fact, a religious ruling, or advice. You use the Service, and act on anything you read, hear, save, or generate in it, at your own risk.

The Service is not an emergency service. If you believe you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or qualified crisis support right away. Any automated safety feature in the App may not detect every situation and is not a substitute for professional or emergency help.

You are solely responsible for your own decisions, including any health, safety, religious, legal, financial, or family decisions. Never disregard professional advice, qualified religious guidance, or emergency help because of something you read, hear, or generate in the Service.

9. Intellectual Property and Quran Source Content

The Service, including its software, design, branding, app experience, website, original editorial content, and non-user content, is owned by Vibeler Inc. and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. "Quran Lane" and related names and logos are marks of Vibeler Inc. Except for the limited license in Section 5, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership in the Service to you.

Third-party source licenses continue to apply independently of our App license and usage restrictions. In particular, published word-study data and its license can be exported from Settings → Text & sources. Nothing in these Terms restricts rights granted by an applicable open or public-domain source license.

The Arabic Quran is sacred revelation and is not owned by us. Translation-of-meaning text, tafsir notes, source attributions, and other referenced materials may be public-domain, licensed, third-party, or otherwise subject to the rights and terms of their respective sources. English summaries and reflections in Quran Lane are aids to understanding; they are not the Quran itself.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on and integrates with third-party services, including Apple and Google app-store transactions, cloud hosting and databases, AI processing through OpenRouter, email delivery, EveryAyah recitation delivery, device speech and notification services, external maps, and other infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible or liable for them. You assume the risk of using third-party services. This agreement is between you and Vibeler Inc., not with Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or for providing any support or remedy.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that any content, source attribution, translation-of-meaning reference, tafsir note, AI output, audio, notification, or feature will be accurate, reliable, complete, or suitable for your purposes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or conditions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you; in that case, such warranties are limited to the minimum scope and duration permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Vibeler Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers (the "Quran Lane Parties") will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, faith-related opportunity, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages; and
  • the total aggregate liability of the Quran Lane Parties for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

These limitations are a fundamental basis of our agreement and apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including, for consumers in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada, rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer-protection law, and liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Quran Lane Parties from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising out of or related to your use or misuse of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, or your presentation of AI outputs as authoritative religious or professional advice.

14. Termination

You may delete an online conversation in Ask or delete your online account in Settings → Your account → Delete my account. Online deletion does not erase notes stored on your device or backups you exported. Minimal billing records may be retained to protect purchase ownership.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account or personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, at any time — with or without notice — if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or the public, to comply with law, or if we discontinue the Service. When your account ends, your right to use the Service stops, and content associated with your account may be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Separate transactions handled by Apple or Google are managed in your app-store settings. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 6 and 8 through 18 — will survive.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide notice through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means before it takes effect where required. The "Last updated" date above shows when this version took effect. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

16. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at hello@qurancompanion.app and give us at least 60 days to resolve the issue informally and in good faith. Most concerns can be resolved this way.

Arbitration. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute that is not resolved informally will be settled by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or stop misuse of the Service.

Class-action and jury waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, disputes will be brought only in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding, and you and we each waive any right to a jury trial.

Your non-waivable rights are preserved. Nothing in this section requires you to give up rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you. If you are a consumer in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada, your rights under applicable consumer-protection law — including any right to participate in a class proceeding or to bring certain claims in court under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 — continue to apply despite this section, and to that extent this section does not apply to you. If any part of this section is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or person, that part is severed and the remainder continues to apply.

Time limit. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim relating to the Service must be started within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.

17. Governing Law and Forum

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 16 and to any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer-protection or other laws of your home jurisdiction, you agree that the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

18. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Vibeler Inc. regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or reformed to the minimum extent necessary so that the intent is given effect to the greatest extent the law allows, and the remaining provisions stay in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent; we may assign them, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. There are no third-party beneficiaries to these Terms, except that Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of the app-store-related provisions and may enforce them. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
